Kosher Without Borders LLC ("Kosher Without Borders," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Kosher Without Borders mobile apps and website (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us:

• Account information — such as your name and email address when you create an account or sign in.
• Optional profile details — such as a phone number, but only if you choose to add it to your account.
• Content you create — reviews, ratings, favorites, place suggestions, reports, and other information you submit.
• Photos — if you choose to upload them.
• Messages — when you contact us or send us reports or suggestions.

Information we collect automatically:

• Location — with your permission, your device location, so we can show kosher places near you and give directions. You can turn this off in your device settings.
• Usage and device information — such as app interactions, device type, operating system, language, and general (approximate) location, to operate and improve the Service.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to: provide the directory of kosher restaurants, markets, synagogues, eruvin, and other listings, and show places near you; create and manage your account; let you save favorites, post reviews and ratings, and send suggestions and reports; respond to your reports and suggestions so our directory keeps improving; send you app-related and promotional emails (see "Your communication choices"); maintain the security, quality, and performance of the Service, including diagnosing crashes and errors; comply with the law and enforce our Terms of Use.

4. Your communication choices

• Email. We may send you news, updates, and offers by email. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us at go@kosherwithoutborders.com. We will still send you essential account or service messages.
• SMS / WhatsApp. We do not send text or WhatsApp messages today. If you choose to give us a phone number, we may contact you by SMS or WhatsApp in the future, and you can opt out at any time.

5. Reviews, recommendations, and social features

The Service lets you post reviews, ratings, and recommendations, and may in the future let you share recommendations of places and food with friends or publicly. Content you choose to post or share may be visible to other users or the public, along with your display name. Please do not include information you want to keep private. You can edit or remove your content, and we may remove content that violates our Terms of Use.

6. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only: with service providers that help us run the Service, under agreements that limit their use of your information, including Google (Google Maps for maps and location; Firebase for analytics and crash reporting), EmailOctopus (to send our emails), Smartlook (usage analytics), Apple and Google Play (app distribution); with other users, for content you choose to post or share; for legal reasons, if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or Kosher Without Borders; in a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition, subject to this Policy.

7. Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can delete your account at any time from within the app, or request deletion by emailing go@kosherwithoutborders.com. We may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. International users

We operate globally. Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, which may have different data-protection laws.

11. Your rights
